Mercedes Benz Preston
I went to Mercedes Benz or Mercedes bent today asking to purchase 5 black plastic internal door lock pieces after 10 minutes and me showing the actual part the bandit behind the counter offered me them for £70 each plus vat.
I informed him that I could buy them from the USA for $2.75 each and showed him the advert on the website,he then said as its an old car they tend to add on a little more than normal.
This is unbelievable margins on such a simple piece of plastic.stay clear
What exactly do you need? Can you post a pic?
Typical mercedes dealership license to print money ! i ordered 6 months ago a handbook for a 300gd w460 from a main agent cost me £54 .00 then 2 months later needed another one so ordered it from another dealership and paid £28 for same item . Rang up mercedes customer services explain situation and said same part nmber and reply was that mercedes dealerships have a starting price and can themn charge what they want on top !
Forgot to say not all the mercedes dealerships are greedy some can be really helpful .
Get the part number and run it through inchcape's online part ordering system. If it does not give you a price call inchcape mercedes. Warrington are pretty good and charge the correct price. Don't use the mercedes owned dealers are they are idiots.

You can also pay about £20 a year and get the full epc for all Mercedes vehicles. It does not give prices though.

You will find most dealers are well versed not to give out any part numbers. They will not even correct you with a superseded part number, merely inform you that the number has changed or the system does not recognise the number.

Mercedes Benz have rights' to the G-Wagen, Puch produce the G-Wagen for Mercedes Benz further the G-Puch is under license from Mercedes Benz.
My contrarion comment - any motor trade main dealer parts dept is only as good as the individual "on the counter" AND your relationship with him.
Rakesh makes very valid comments
I have first class service from my local MB commercial dealer - City West ,Bristol and Avonmouth .
Many club members [myself included] also purchase genuine parts from Northside Truck and Van- one of their parts managers is most helpful.
Gavin Helme -club member- is as clued up as anyone in UK and has often got me out of trouble locating obscure items
Search ebay...generic parts [chassis and drive train] brake pads etc are common to T1 van - I pay £15 for nos good name pads.
Belgian G breaker G-ologie has a lot of useful stuff if a bit pricey.
