Mary Rose G Utilty/Cabrio
I am sure when the G was launched in the late 70's MB uk gave a a G soft top to help with the Mary Rose restoration? Can anyone else remember this????
Could this be it...........
Going to new Mary Rose museum next week so will keep my eye out for pictures
Jason, You have a very good memory
1982
I will indeed ask them. It appears Rakesh is very convinces of which years it was!!
Why did you want to know?
Some kind of self test process?
I did ask at the museum but no-one had any idea. However they are now looking into it for me.
Such an anorak-ish thing to do. Going somewhere with such historic significance and then bothering them about a G
Oh well
I think my husband was embarassed that I kept asking people questions that were nothing to do with the Mary Rose! Fascinating place to visit if you are ever down that way.
MB surely wouldn't have GIVEN it to them as it would have cost them money. Probably spent a lot of time covered in sea spray which would not have done it any good
I paid c.£9000 for Woking Motors '83 300GDL demonstrator with 25k on it in 1984
...sold on ebay 2006 £700 to a guy who flew over from Poland and drove it back [was rotten ,bad head gasket,4spd shot]
...used daily on farm for more than 20 years
...cheapest 200.000 miles of all my vehicles
He knew what he was letting himself in for....he tried before he buyed!!!!
Jason, you need to buy this BARGIN and read all about it....
Gav
I have just bought it for £13 inc postage. If you wanted it you can have it for that. I just thought I would get it to stop any other bugger doing so. Are you going to the AGM? If you did want it, I could bring it along (of course I would have had a thorough look first)
Am still waiting on them getting back to me with any info
Thanks for the heads up Gav
I really should get out more........
Will you buy anything if i pop a link on here?
I have lots more stuff i need to clear out....i was going to give it to Jason if it didn't sell
PS you will need a trailor soon to get all the stuff to the AGM....
I have my limits, you know!
Old tyres and brochures are enough for me thanks. Anything else, buy it yourself!!
Worth a try
Such is the power of advertising! Remeber seeing as a young boy a full page add in the Guardian extolling the virtues of a G, disaponted I got the cabrio bit wrong.
I bet they sold it? Caroline you should ask!
Price of a 300GD in 1982? £12k?
