Lights leading to extra action; shame its the windscreen wipers!
Hi All,
What has been over the last few years a minor issue when it occasionally happened has suddenly reached the point where it won't stop... when I put the lights on, the wipers come on. Sometimes also the rear wiper. Occasionally triggered by the indicators as well (lights off). Not always permanent, will turn off, but then a bit later turn on again. Used to do a couple of waves, but tonight entire 20 minute journey, be ok if it was raining... D'oh!
So, were do I start looking for dodgy connection (earth possibly?). WD40 armed and dangerous, somebody please give me a clue!!!!
Cheers,
Stewart
99.99% sure that it'll be an earth problem.
On LR defenders (things I know a LOT about) it's always the prince of darkness.... aka Lucas, with earth faults causing this.
I don't know enough about G wiring systems to be able to advise you where to start looking, but I suppose anywhere behind the dash that has black brown (thanks Axel
) earth cables... see where they mount. Most cars usually have an eye terminal on a substantial bolt, or a welded on threaded stud which the earth headers all terminate onto.
These LR chappies seem to know a bit about this fault finding malarky don't they?
And very helpful they are too! ![]()

Spider1V
Sounds earthing releated for sure....
A couple of large earth points under the dash, main one from memory is up under the right side above the fuse board
A good fettle with some light emery paper should sort it out, remove any rust and paint flakes etc.
I thought wipers on all the time in Sheffield would be an advantage? ![]()
"Take me down to Sheffield city where it always rains and the girls are S***y?" Was that the G N R lyric...... maybe got mixed up?

Indeed... owning any LR product can turn even the most novice spanner spinner into an expert!
