 Hi guys,

What should i expect to pay for a set of Ht leads for my G500 i have been quoted over £500 by mercedes this seems insanely expensive to me.

are there cheaper alternatives of the same quality ? the guy in mercedes told me that bosch and mercedes parts are not the same as bosch dosn't have the patent to make them to the saem standard ?? seems a bit wtong to me.
Anyway any advice would be great.

Cheers in advance,

Spooky

Re: HT leads

Try Fastlane they make up bespoke lead sets. Based in Cornwall, excellent service

Had a set made for my 230 GES cost £60. They are high quality and have proved  very good in the wet (underwater?)

If you cannot find them on google I will find the address.

Re: HT leads

 Hello Spooky,

That price is average for a set of ignition leads and is not bad for this type of vehicle, but why is it you are after a set in the first instance?
Normally, a lead would be replaced as and when necessary only.  If you have bags of money then only, would it make sense to replace the set.

Check each lead individually and replace only those which are a failure; it is more common for the coil pack to fail rather than an ignition lead.

Cheers,

Re: HT leads

What is causing you to believe that all the leads need replacing?
The leads are individual for each cylinder and power pack, so you would not have to replace all 8 at once.

Re: HT leads

^You mean all 16 of them, part of the expense is the sheer number of them, two per cylinder as the M113 is a twin-spark engine.

Re: HT leads

Bad English on my part. 8 coils and cylinders, 16 HT leads.
