It seems the forum is a bit slow so, I thought of stoking the fire.

Here is a clip of a G-compressor performing on rolling road.  Besides the red hot exhaust notice the engine deflection upon deceleration through the exhaust pipe returning to rest. Or imagine on a long trip the heat generated by the exhaust would be hot enough to cook some fish or morsels of meat.... Humph, can already smell the fish.

Re: Hot stuff

Normally at those sustained revs on the road the manifolds would have a 140mph breeze keeping them cool.

What Bigblock says is true, but then you come to a queue for the motorway toll and its a hot summer day in the south of France and before you know it the engine temperature reaches 120.  Don't know if anyone else has had a similar experience but I found it expedient to fit a manual over-ride switch so that I could start the fan before hitting the queue and thereby avoid the overheat.

Re: Hot stuff

not what he meant; the aerodynamic qualities of the G and on rushing air keeping everything cool
