Hi All

Just acquired a nice Green SWB 300 GES Auto today and very pleased to get a hold of one.
For some inexplicable reason I Sold my Green  80  Series Landcruiser last year and have been missing it ever since.
Was looking for another when I saw this G300 was nearby,  had a look then fell in love with it. Ok it aint got 8 seats like the LC but, it seems just as bombproof and it's great to be up high looking down on the world again.
So I'm now the proud owner of of a "G" and looking forward to finding out all about them from fellow owners
I have a couple of other cars and a member of the  Fiat Coupe Club. FCCUK.

I got a couple of questions already which I'll post in the correct section.

Cheers

Marko

And I'm a member of the Bentley Owners LLoads Of Cash Klub.
Welcome to the GWOA (how plain).
Assume you have a LWB...room for jump seats in the back (unofficial).

Re: Hello, newbie here

Thanks for the welcome

@Spider and Hus55 - Will post Pics when I get some time and Weather.
Price? I aint tellin, but most I've ever paid for a car, and it's 19 years old! Nuts.

@Pistonhead- Would love to come to AGM but, cant see it happening this year. As I  spent way over my budget for a 4x4. Can't justify anymore car related spending this year.  Especially the way this G drinks .

@jdrong - Don't quite know what the bollards you are on about?   Luckee you avin loads of cash and a Bentlee ;)
I got a nineteen year old G and thirteen year old £2.5K Fiat Coupe and a nine year old Mazda Premacy hand me down!

And a Little 9 year old Suzuki Ignis which now has to go. (Excellent little runaround Low Mileage  (+31K) if anyone is interested)

@Peter Perfect. Totally agree -  Doh indeed.  Yes, after a few days driving I'm realising it aint a patch on an Landcruiser 80 Series for Driving , Comfort. or Performance.  It does look Great though, is well built, is small enough for Mrs Lego to drive(she wouldn't drive the LC)

I have had it off road at a local Quarry a couple of days ago ,and it is Very Good in the rough. The Difflocks did their job and got me out of some unexpected  deep mud trouble. I was on my own( Mistake) and I got butterflies in the stomach when I thought I'd got stuck in extremely soft ground where there is never usually soft ground in "Summer".  I actually walked ahead first to check the ground which was reasonably firm and then just assumed that the bit I hadn't checked was ok too(big mistake) I already had the centre and rear diffs on as a precaution but sunk in pretty deep. After a few sweaty and slightly panicky attempts to reverse out - switching on the  Front Diff Locks  saved me and got me out
It would have been very embarrassing because  when I first got my Landcruiser - I got my it stuck there in a ditch and had to abandon it over night.  A plea to the  a Local Off-Road Club Forum that night paid off, and 2 fantastically helpful guys pulled it out next day. I subsequently Joined the Club(SORC) and took part in a Non-Damaging Competitions(TYROs) and learned a  a good deal about Off Roading from the Members there. So thank-you G, no red face this time.   I think I may re-join SORC and enter the G in some Tyro competitions as It's seems pretty capable.

Yes, Scottish Off Road Club. Are you a Member?
I'm based in Linlithgow and I 'm often in and around Edinburgh. So we are  close enough to meet up easily and maybe. do a bit light Off Roading . I need someone to pull me out when I get stuck.  ;)
