Hi everyone!

Hello Gavin,

Welcome to the GWOA;  it does look like you are enjoying your G-Wagen, you are braking heavily, the front alloys are dirtier than the rears.

Enjoy,

 Hi and Welcome!

Lovley G there, do you live on the Islands or in New Territories? Are there many G in Hong Kong? Only have see two , but that was over in Zhenzhen on the main land.

Thank you!
I absolutely AM enjoying my G-Wagen.  The picture was taken on day 10 of my ownership (done about 500-800km).  The brakes are very strong and I was still getting used to it.  I do about 50% city traffic and I seem to be always in a hurry so maybe these also explain why so much brake dust (besides the fact that the rear are drum brakes).

You are right!  Sadly we don't have a lot of opportunities to do offroading here but I will try to find some.

Re: Hello from Hong Kong - new to G-Wagen

Hello Gavin,

Noticed in the close up of the wheels, the picture reveals that the 'tear drops' on the wheels seem to have a backing, covering up the holes that should have been there.  Is it my eyes, or am I mistaken, or is it the holes have been covered up?

Cheers,

Hi Rakesh
On a closer look at the picture, it seems to be just the design of the rim instead of a backing/cover.  But I will look at the actual wheel when I get off work later today.  Interesting! :-)

Hi Spider1V,

Thank you!
I live on the Hong Kong Island. Do you live in HK too?
I don't go to the mainland of China very often so I don't really know. But I guess people there are more interested in super cars than G-Wagens at the moment.

I cannot say there are many Gs in HK but I do manage to spot one or two on the road almost everyday. Over the past 2 years, the main dealer has sold over 150 G300 Military and Professional. So together with the G55 AMG, G500 and grey market (used import from Japan) W460, G-Wagens do appear more on the streets of Hong Kong now.

Whenever possible, I take pictures of G-Wagens I meet on the road. You can see them on my Flickr.

 GL,

Sadly no, I used to stop in on my way to China and see some old school friends. I am based here in the UK, Many thanks for posting the G's you have seen, not too sure if there are any current GWOA members based down in HK, but I am hoping that this post may stir some of them to get re aquainted.

(10/10 for Rakesh for spotting the alloys!)
