 OK, was doing some maintenace due to a failing nearside light. (linked to the headlight thread a few weeks ago. Took the headlamp out and found this. It does not look like the off side light as I checked that. Was wondering;

a) Where can I get new one?
b) would it be a MB one, as I can't find a part number?
c) does the burn mark mean something else could be wrong?

There looks to be a slight crack in it and me thinks that maybe water has ingressed and has corroded the bits inside that is causing it to burn like that???

Many thanks in advance

Re: Headlight Block

Hi
That looks like the fitting that pushes onto your headlamp  bulb or SBU and the burned bit is because there was a poor contact.. the wires should go back to a terminal block or inline connectors .I have good ones " as removed" from G' breakers ..will check on Monday and pop one in the post to you

Re: Headlight Block

its actually a common fault on V8's...

its been diagnosed to poor build qaulity due to head swelling in the engine bay while make the electrical connections !

[my advice, its time to go cdi and start saving money!!]

Re: Headlight Block

Hi

Did fixwin "fix" you up? sorry couldn't resist...

If not part numbers are...

Plug A001 545 85 28 £1.20ea + vat MBUK have 3 in stock (1 per side)

Pin A008 545 97 26 £0.90ea + vat MBUK have 7 in stock (3 per side)

It would be a simple case of cut and solder and re attach

Hope this helps

Re: Headlight Block

 Thanks Gav,

Just waiting for post to sort out logistics LOL. I take it its not a simple case of them clips sliding on or off? THe off side is rock solid, its just the near side.
