My congratulations to the whole of Admin team; these being Tim Carnell, Tony Baskill and Mark Blunden and any one else I do not know of or have not mentioned for the our new look of web site.

I do like the membership recognition for one and the fresh look with the introduction of some photos in the top line. I do hope these will be changed on a regular basis after a short length of time.

Well done chaps!

The homepage picture of the G Wagen on a lift has been replaced.   The lower pictures are from the Gallery, as Adrian has said.   If more people posted pictures in the Gallery, the lower pictures would also change more frequently.   If you have appropriate pictures that you think other member would like to see, please post them.

I think the membership recognition is garish to me Red is the political colour and doesn't sit well as the G-wagen banner

Yes, you'll have to buy all the merchandise that's in stock first. smiley lol.

Green would show that products built to last can be considered "green".

Or a Rainbow perhaps, keep everyone happy.

I am in agreement with Mark; current merchandising has to be cleared before any changes can be made, if at all.

This point had been privately raised in the past by me. The reply was to the effect of “.....It’s not happening.”

As the feeling for a change is not only my opinion (see quotes below); before, I make my case for a change in logo, I would like to say that my opinions are in no way to denigrate the efforts by the originator of this logo. Having seen some proposal sketches of logo in issue 1b of the News letter; I don’t doubt the results were great for the time and the circumstances at that time.

I agree our logo is harsh and a-political. The badges, when, attached to some of our merchandise, in particular the black shirts look like ‘SS’ uniform. Two changes can be made to soften the look of the logo.

Reduce the harsh-solid red by introducing a screened background (dotted red rather than a solid red). Secondly, graduate the red running from a darker red to lighter across the height of the logo. The darker to lighter graduation could run, starting from either the top or bottom. Another alternative is having this sequence of dark red to start from top and bottom and the lighter graduation to meet in the middle.

As for the sharp-cold look of the boarder corners, have the corners rounded off, softening the look of the boarder. One could give the boarder a 3-D tablet look having the tablet beveled.

My last suggestion is to modify the letter ‘G’ as the one we are using is not arguably original; other clubs are using this style of ‘G’. To make it look different we have the tail of our ‘G’ docked.

I have some more additives to the logo but I won’t go there as it has been said “it’s not happening....” I may at some point in the future show my scrap book of the work I have done to the logo change.
