Hello

Does anyone have any experience with removing and refitting the alloy gutter trim? If so, could you give me some tips on the procedure. Thank you in advance.

Re: Gutter trim

Subject to reliability of the old memory, you need to remove firstly, the small gutter trims (Connectors/joiners).
To remove these and the same applies to the longer pieces, to gently and firmly, using a flat blade screw driver, prize the bottom of the trim (the flat edge) away from the body.  As this clears from the gutter, rotate the trim upwards and unhook the curved edge from the gutter.

For the longer pieces, the flat edged pricing should be done slowly and work this along the length of the trim until the trim is detached from the gutter.  I am not sure, if there are any rivet that may need drilling out at some point on the longer pieces.

Re: Gutter trim

Just doing at the moment on a SWB.
Dont bother drilling the windscreen end caps, the whole thing comes off as one.

On all i used a 4 inch pry bar ( the baby from the 3 peice pry bar sets available on ebay etc.).

Start on the sides at the top front of the doors, drill the pop rivits out and tap the remnants through then carefuly prise the windscreen / door sides off.

ON ALL STRIPS move end to end of the strip, twist the pry bar side to side for the full length dont aim to remove the strip just get it to move.
Next pass use the pry in its normal manner. from the under side. This twist the strips upwards and pops it off the welded flange.

The three joint covers ( back middle and one either side of the rear window). These just clip off from the under side.

The rear hookey sticks come of ok and hold there shape. The long side strips on mine twisted but go back on OK and lose the twist.

I will post some picies up tommorrow if i get the chance.

Hope this helps
