Hello there

This is my formal introduction to the forum, though I've been a member for a while. I've done one other post - sightings in the City

I'm based in Cranbrook in Kent and as a treat thought I deserved to have a 4x4 - which everyone else seems to have around here. Though I wanted something a bit more special that a Land Rover or Range Rover...

I bought my G from a delightful farmer (and seasoned G owner) Kick van Hengel. Kick is based in the New Forest. I'm sure many of you know him from the GWOA.

There are a couple of things I'd like to do to it, but basically it is a solid thing and ready for anything one can throw at it. I took it off-road for the first time last weekend - I was more spooked than the car was. Will be doing that again soon.

Look forward to events/meeting other owners. I have not seen a single G in this area - but I know that there are newish ones parked up at Tonbridge and Sevenoaks train stations from my commute. My car is kept in the Tanyard carpark in Cranbrook if anyone is passing and wants to check it out!

I'll try to attach some photos...

Thanks and regards

Paul

Re: Greetings all from Cranbrook in Kent

Welcome to the forum and the GWOA,

Thank you for a great introduction, you have actually mentioned where you are at.

There is a first meeting of the year arranged by Kevin, our South Wales and South Western area rep. hopefully organised for March, I think, details from the Home page, just scroll down to appropriate heading; I realise it will be a trek for you but do consider this meeting. There is some green lanning followed by an 50 mins underground tour in a coal mine museum some 300ft down.

As a tip, you may want to consider including your chassis number as part of your signature, so, should you pose any technical or parts enquiries; this part of the information is crucial to give assistance.

Welcome.

Thank you very much guys

I look forward to meeting you some time in the not too distant future

I'll check out that trip to South Wales - though a bit of a trek in my old truck!
