I don't see any fitment issues, other than the possible different gearing of different models and the different lenght in the propshaft needed to compensate of the different lenghts of the engines.

If you want to know more about the different gearboxes that were fitted to the 460 see here:

Make sure you fit the correct flywheel/clutch release bearing combination or you will be for ever burning clutches.

I asked this question origonally because I have lived for some years now with a noisy rattle from the gearbox (and getting worse) when the car is idling in neutral. The rattle dissapears when the clutch is pressed. I've had conflicting answers from various mechanics, so, I thought the best solution is to change the complete box. Albeit from the petrol to the diesel....Seems from the response here , that G's are never as straight forward as thier outward design suggests. I shall invest in some ear defenders instead.

A splendid idea because they nearly all do that.

Thats the reason i was changing mine, its has a strange grating/rumbling noise coming from it, but works fine, and to be honest its not that loud, you can only hear it when you get the car up on the ramps and get underneath, from inside the car i cant hear it at all.
Would it be better then not to change the box ?
