HI
suspect no difflocks engaged... indicated by free movement of the steering wheel ..it should have crept up that incline in a straight line.... too much "welly" as well....
LWB has advantages sometimes.
Throttles on the right
I think its a 500, I also think that the diff are not engaged, whereas the Landy has his on and finally (rich coming from me I know) he need some more practice! With those tyres he should have walked that easy!
Spider1V
All lockers are on, one of those situations where a 500 just doesn't cut it, an old diesel or 230 would have no problem. ;-)
Ohhh Sir...I beg to 'diff'er! (boom boom). and I know your only winding me up! Hope you had a good xmas and new year.
Looking forward to the next Kent race at S&D's..... Oh I am sorry .....a G500 with crappy AT's beating the diesel with proper Mud plugging tyres.......
Peace & Love all!
A bit too late to call that one the best I've heard in 2010 .... but has to be the best for the starts of 2011 ... :-)
Happy new year every one.
my 250GD would walk up that, and it has 85hp and 205 tires
I think crawling slowly up the hill then booting it whilst almost stationary is NOT the best of techniques.
However after a few atempts (12!!!) the driver does adapt his driving style.and reaches the summit, which I could have driven my lawn mower up.
the video proves that the driver is every more important than the vehicle.
i remember watching the video where piggy and peter perfect struggled in a muddy climb that fredcosse just sailed through in his 230 GES.
btw, i have imported a 1990 model 230 ges recently to sell and am more than impressed with its all round competence and economy !
Peter perfect replying on marks account;
Tyres are the problem , the landrover had better traction on 2 accounts, less aggressive, but wide tyres on soft, dry soil, the G had simex and they just dug in, for the G to crawl up would need to lower pressures considerably with the tyres he had. But as mark has said LWB does have its advantages, in that the rear wheels are not on the steep part of the slope, when the fronts are ready to go over the brow. forget that it has a V8 !
