It was only a few years in 2007 I was looking over what G55 were going for ie £130k,  for CRAZY prices here in the U.k were mad. And they were LHD versions of all. 2006 there was a small portion of RHD Max Macarther had at G-wagen-Caversham for staggering prices as well.

old adds of G-wagen caversham:

Point I'm trying to make is: Because they have officially come back on the Mercedes courts - will prices tumble for the 2010, 2011 etc ?

Today I see examples like this: http://classifieds.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/mercedes-benz/g...
-auto/932454

*** In 5 yrs maybe they'll be in thier 20,000 's?? ***. Or will Mercedes decide to stop making G-wagon's altogether in two years, then we'll see prices hike again like nothing.

Re: G55 AMG 2nd hand prices today !

£20k for a G55?  may be, a replacement engine incl labour costs at least £30k, AMGs older than five years tend to be unsellable without a complete service record.
The historic-out-of-line asking prices for G55s can be explained by the London market for Arab summer visitors who don’t mind buying LHD as some take these cars back home. They like the latest thing and the G55 has been replaced by the G63.  I expect to see 2006 RHD G55s for sale at 60k in the not-so-distant future.
Such a price assumes that G55s will follow the G350 example:  G350 prices appear to be roughly in line with German used-car prices, a one-year old car with 6k miles sells for roughly £65k.  Following the same logic, a one year old G55 should sell for £90k and a six-year old G55 with 35k miles for less than £60k.
Following that line of thought, there are some interesting cross-over points coming up:  a six-year old G55 for the price of a two-year old G350 and (further ahead) a six-year old G350 for the price of a lowish mileage fifteen-year old G500.
