As the title says....

Bit FJ Cruiser ish, but looks alright.
Would be nice to think MB are looking seriously at a replacement for the G, but I doubt they are.
The G is probably their most profitable model, the tooling for it is over 30 years old, engines are transfers from mainstream car models.
The issues recently raised over galvanization though is relevant, Porsche's have been galvanized since 1977, Audi's since 1986, Mercedes apparantly [or not] since 2004, but not G-wagens, vehicles that can need this the most. That thing looks like it belongs on Judge Dread 2.
OK, so it is a concept.. but just too much like a Mattel hotwheels toy - somewhere they have lost the utilitarian/ functional/ military look and feel that for me at least sets the G apart (other than more recent bling models anyway).
Also, aside from the aesthetic, the think I like most about what I have is the flexibility of the platform.. ability to fabricate, switch out, upgrade etc.. This think looks like it any upgrades are because it crashed backwards through a Demon Tweaks stand at a MaxPower trade show. I bet the interior is even worse.
That said it would not take a huge change for it to appeal more. A slightly fewer curves and mouldings. Rear needs to be a little more upright (too jeep like) with a more robust, upright front face. More substantial slider/ underbody and steps would also work.
I do like the high clearance. Don't like small windows (10%+ would fix it), car like mirrors, the hidheous roofrack and roof light pod.
A large VVT v8 diesel, 1000Nm under the bonnet and we're good to go :-)
hyaundai santa fe. put big wheels on anythin and it looks good... wonder if they the same pattern as a g!!
an inflated santa fe, or what ever ju call it...
I suppose it is OK, it will always be out of financial reach so I am not too bothered by it; still - liked the early W460 shown towards the end, clean, simple and unpretentious.
unimaginatively,
Looks more like a radio controlled model....some poor chap's fantasy. Looks the part but suspect driver's view of the ground ahead would be severely limited; lots of dead ground.
The main bidy reminds me of the Porche Cayann, but on the whole, despite the Judge D2 look, I quite like it. Certainly has a presents and you would not miss it in the car park....
