Re: G INSURANCE

Thanks for the input guys!

It sucks to live in london sometimes, my lamborghini is coming up cheaper than the G!

Check this, my small fleet, mostly high performance cars:

2012 SLK55 AMG £600.00 with track use

2010 Lamborghini Gallardo £1400.00 with track use

2009 Nissan GTR £750.00 with track use

2007 G500 ..........£3400.00 no off road use, limited miles......what the hell is wrong with these insurers?

It was insured for £600.00 with off road use and track use......but the insurer will not insure it anymore!

WTF!

Will try NFU

Re: G INSURANCE

limited mileage policies have also become quite pricey as G values have risen

Re: G INSURANCE

I would recommend Adrian Flux, I called several companies and these offered the most comprehensive cover at a good rate for my G. kind regards Dave

Re: G INSURANCE

I'm with Adrian Flux, competitive, don't mind modifications and they specialise in 4x4's

Re: G INSURANCE

My 230GE is off the road for a bit, but last time I got insurance from the AA and it was fully comp less than £300 (60% NCD).  I gave up on NFU - they got expensive (seems to me) many years back.  Won't use Admiral again, nor First Direct.

With ASDA Car Insurance at the moment - cheap but very likely flakey/lightweight cover.  But then, which Insurance Company ever pays out fairly? They all offload to 'agent' middlemen whose job is to save them money, not actually serve their customers.

Money talks.

Re: G INSURANCE

I live in London and tried to insure a G400.

I had 11 years NCD to transfer from another car/policy.

Most (none) of the on-line quotation sites do not list the model.

NFU agreed to insure for £870 with limited mileage.

Adrian flux wanted nearly £1000 and with a mileage tracker fitted.

In the end, Direct Line were very helpful and after confirming with their underwriters, agreed to insure it as a G500 AMG for £300, and 6,000 miles/ year.

You really need to shop around.

My 300GE can be insured for only £210 or thereabouts with a most insurers.

I often hear Adrian Flux being recommended, and I have tried them various times for a number of different vehicles. Some 20 years ago, I was able to get some competitive prices from them, but every time for me in the last several years, they have been one of the most expensive and they seem like they are not really trying to get you a good deal. "Computer says..."

NFU seemed very professional and had to get approval for my London postcode, but just too expensive in the end.

This time, Direct Line made an effort for me.

And another

Footman James specialise in classic cars and I think have policies for more than one vehicle. May be worth a phone call.

Re: G INSURANCE

Although you may naturally expect them to be expensive, I use Mercedes Benz insurance for our 3 Mercs and get surprisingly good deals - the G500 cost me £620 at the last renewal  fully comp no mileage limit.

Re: G INSURANCE

I paid £480 fully comp for my 1999 G500 and  £450 for my 1999 300TD with Adrian Flux OX17 postcode (Banbury).
