Ford Motor Co. has announced that it is recalling 11,500 more 2013 Ford Escape SUVs. This time, to blame is a faulty fuel line that can break in 1.6-liter engines. This can lead to a fuel drip, which in turn can lead to engine fire. If you need a brand new car, you can get bad credit, car loans.

<strong>Only some motors have the issue</strong>

According to Ford, not all 2013 Ford Escape SUVs have the issue with the engine compartment fuel line that can drip fuel and cause a fire in the engine compartment. In fact, only the 1.6-liter engines have the problem.

<blockquote>"Our intensive investigation and testing has identified the area of concern and we are moving as quickly as possible to repair vehicles for our customers," said Ray Nevi of Ford's safety office. "In the meantime, it is extremely important that affected customers not ignore this recall and immediately contact their dealer."</blockquote>

<strong>Must be shipped in for safety</strong>

Unlike some vehicle recalls where the car maker gently suggests that owners should bring their automobile in for a quick fix, this Escape recall is more pointed, as personal safety is at threat. While no injuries have been reported to date, there have been three reports of fires caused by the defect. Dealerships have been instructed to stop selling any 2013 Ford Escape SUVs with 1.6-liter motors until the necessary repairs are made to prevent engine fires.

There are 11,500 SUVs in Canada and the United States impacted by the Ford Escape recall, though only 4,800 have already been sold to customers. Ford Spokeswoman Marcey Zwiebel explained that the vehicles that are still on lots will be fixed before they are sold.

<blockquote>“We are obviously taking very quick action in the interest of our customers’ safety,” she said.</blockquote>

<strong>Different engine sizes</strong>

Only the 1.6-liter engine models are in the recall; all other models for the brand new Ford Escape do not need to worry.

There were 99 complaints suggesting that 730,000 older ford Escapes have an unintended acceleration problem, and that is why the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration started an investigation into the fuel line problems and carpet difficulties of older automobiles starting on July 17.
