I started fitting all the bits and pieces I have for my car, including bull bar, winch, double spare wheel carrier, long distance tanks and most importantly, the bloody snorkel.

After I fitted the multi valve engine, my air intake now sits on the right hand side, no problem, just buy a right hand side snorkel, at least that was what I thought. I started today, and although I have never done any form of sheet metal work before, I had to start making a whole now air intake assembly to link the snorkel to my K&N filter and finally to the engine. I don't know if I am ham fisted, but this is soooo much work. I had to remove the screen washer tank from the fender, where does it sit on the 500's? Alternatively I will have to get another car's and make it work somehow, somewhere. I always struggle with posting pics, but will ask someone to do it for me tomorrow.

Fingers crossed, tomorrow I will be cutting my body work.

This is where the grille is on a 500. Washer bottle is also behind the fender but set to the rear of the grille. It's further back in the 500 than the 300. The filler is behind the abs unit.

Sorry no photo-exceeded my limit

Thanks Roly. I have made a steel connecting box to go from the outside of the fender to the inside, and by the look of it a could maybe make my window washer tank a bit smaller. Can you maybe post a picture of your engine bay please?

The joint welding was done inside and out, ground flat and then over-welded again, it may not look pretty, it it will not leak. I then treated it with rust treatment and finally coverred the whole thing with lastic waterproofer. Not pretty, but no one can see it, and it will be water tight.

Done, and even if I have to say so myself, I think it came out ok.
