fitting af M102.985 in a 460 (GE280)

Hi all

is it posible to fit a 2,3 (from 230E 1989) type M102.985  in my GE 280 m1986 ??

I will get all the electronics from the old car..

will it fit my old manual gear box ??

 Hello Søren,

Yes it is possible to fit a 230 engine in your 280GE but, do make sure that you have a 230 gearbox to match as the starter motors are fitted on different sides in each of the models.  230 - starter motor is on the left side and the 280 - starter is fitted on the right side; viewing from rear of vehicle.

I am not sure, but it could be possible to just change the bell housing from a 230 gearbox to fit the body of the 280 gearbox.
