Engine fault on the dark side

have a look at this, this is the dark side aka landrover, all tdi v6 (peugeot citroen motor ) could have no1 main bearing failure, it spins in situ and then starves its self of oil , fault normally happens after 50k miles ! im glad i've still got a g !

Oh dear, think I have that motor in my Citroen C6. Is it a common fault or just isolated?

It's normally a fairly reliable engine that one, but another bad design in the discovery, is the need (unless you';ve got double jointed hands, fingers like ET with mirrors on the end) to remove the body to change the fuel pump drive belt on the back of the engine.

 

It can be done in situe, but fiddly.
