Driving lights HOW to.......

As the nights are getting pretty dark here in the middle of nowhere I want to install some fog/driving lights.
I've actually got some that look like the correct style Bosch/Hella(black plastic back) for good price. They will be mounted on the top of the bumper and are 'driving lights' with a longer beam type than a fog light and use a single filament 55 watt H3 bulb
I have a few options on how I think they should be lit.
1. Connect them to the 'pull on' rotary light switch so they come on as my front 'fog lights' option.
2.Connect them so they come on with the dipped beam
3. Connect so they come on with the high beam

The main issue is quite dim dipped beam and the hi beam is only adequate for my night time eyesite.
My car had no fog lights fitted but where would the cable and relay be for the fog light option coming off the switch? Where can I find the cable? I presume it is there somewhere as I have the switch and a rear/working fog light
I would prefer that they are always on with the dipped beam and have some standard Xenon bulbs coming for the main headlights to improve things I hope.
Any thoughts on legality/ problems they could cause other drivers if not pointing the right way (think I've answered this in the question)???

Legally they have to be wired so they only come on with main beam. You will blind everyone with driving lights if there on with dipped beam, no matter how you adjust them.

The only way to improve the lighting on dipped beam is to get better bulbs or better lights. It is against the law to have 2 sets of dipped beam lights.

As far as UK is concerned anyway.

Re: Driving lights HOW to.......

Thanks for the heads up.
I wired my lights in yesterday. It was quite a quick job. I found a yellow and white cable on a female connector near the radiator on the original wiring loom. This is the connector for the front fog lights. It comes live with one pull of the light switch.
My lights are wired as fog lights and are very bright when on.
I upgraded the headlights to Philups Xenon X-treme (the latest ones for abut £18).
They dipped beam is excellent and the light  is alot whiter.
Should the fogs point down and to the left (away from on-coming traffic) so I dont dazzle oncoming cars?
Should they be aligned like a dipped beam and are they tested at MOT?

How will you turn on the rear fog lights without turning these driving lights on?

If conditions are bad enough that I have to turn on the rear fog ,I'll probably need the fronts on for sure.

Just to clarify, you've wired in auxiliary driving lights (not fog lights) to your fog light switch.

If thats the case, then I would hope it does fail an MOT.
