Does anyone here have experience doing business with this firm in Poland?
I continue to get great feedback and guidance from many of y'all here and elsewhere in the G-Wagen community. Several folks have directed me to http://www.en.mercedes-wolf.pl/ as this firm seem to have a wealth of information posted about the different G-Wagen models, which years with which changes along the way, nuances unique to the different models, military applications etc etc. Great photos too by the way!
As I have my heart get on a mid 1980s vintage soft top ex military model (because of our export/import limitations), apparently this company deals in Danish military service models of that era. More importantly, they appear to do quite a bit of repair and resortation work on these "vintage" models. As I stated in one of my first posts here, I am not looking for a project. I'd like to find a clean, rust free, strong running former military spec G that I can enjoy, service as required and otherwise not have to constantly be dealing with a new or reoccuring mechanical issues with. I inderstand appreciate the call for scheduled and proactive service on a vehicle having owned any number of BMWs and Porsches in the past so I'm not looking to cut corners but I also don't have to have an endless list of to dos with my yet to be acquired G-Wagen. So clean, rust free, non leaking and strong running are key considerations!
Back to the matter at hand. Has anyone here done business with these folks? If you have something wonderful or perhaps not so wonderful to share, please post your comments or PM me if that's preferred.
As always, thank you all for your guidance as I work through the process of identifying my ideal G model.
Thanks!
David
I had not heard of them until now but you can buy military G's from this country too, bear in mind, these are 24v systems.
I do not know what is the state is when it comes to the ordering of parts for these vehicles, would you be able to source them from convential dealerships?
Hi David
I have strong links with Europe especially Lithuania as I visit regularly and have seen a few Military or ex military G's there.
i will have a chat with my brother in law over there. He does a lot of Business in Denmark to so should be able to find a reputable dealer in what you are looking for.
regards
Michael
TwoDogs used to put posts up with links to Danish and Norwegian websites that sell g-wagens. If you can cope with a slow diesel look no further than Peugeot P4 sellers in France
http://voiture.trovit.fr/voitures-occasion/peugeot-p4
http://cgi.ebay.fr/Magnifique-VLTT-PEUGEOT-P4-4X4-6-places-DIESEL-ex-arm...
they are less likely to have suffered rust as well because the French use them in Africa rather than Europe
Never say never!!!!
they should be an easy switch to conventional round ones
Another G-Wagen / Pinzgauer friend in the UK suggestion those folks but from the looks of things, they don't do any sort of remedial or repair work and I'd really like to buy a former military spec G that's going to be more or less ready to go. As prolific as the military spec G Wagens are in Europe, presumably there are other fims that acquire them and then do what's called for remediation and repair wise.
I have not yet found a source from there here in the US so if others have thoughts or suggestions on other vendors in Europe who deal in these vehicles and can provide one where rust and any other "issues" have been addressed, I'd certainly appreciate hearing from you.
Thanks!
