So happened to be over on Pistonheads and looked at G's for sale = 22.

Not a one 460.. but must be 8 or more ex-demo 350 diesels with 12-1,000 miles on them. MBUK must have forced the dealers into buying them .. and now those dealers need to off load them as old stock. So what is the market for used £80k diesel Gs like? .. cannot be great when you can buy a new bling'ed up LR product for less... or a 5 year G55 used and spend it on the fuel having more fun?

Great for us cheap skates.. great injection into the top end of the used market (if they are not hoovered up for export) as it will push the older 463 values down ... heck might even think of a 463 at this rate (and fuel cost).

Anyway .. seems like there must be some annoyed dealers who are seeing a pile of cash evapourating by the day after being forced into this? Given the small market they might have been better to have fewer special dealers and maybe even hold them centrally for distribution for test drives (instead of the sales force using them as hacks every night..) but then I guess if it is not in the show room then you do not take it for a test drive?

They did force them into buying them, cost to dealer is £72K, they just want rid of them.

Rich tells me his local dealer has sold their full quota for the year. Why buy a demo for 80k+ when you can get a new one.
Seems in the short term at least, asking prices for late 463's has gone up. A late 463 300TD must be worth a fortune now, even if it does smell like a crack heads bbq.  lol

Some cracking deals to be had for those who are looking. I very nearly purchased one myself but changed my mind. The benefit of buying these ones are they are very highly spec'ed. Over the standard they have the Chrome Package, Exterior Styling Package, Privacy glass, Tow bar, Seat Comfort Package, Floormats for passengers and loading area, Reversing camera, Rear seat entertainment system, and Comfort telephony. In total it adds about £7K worth of extras. So definately better to buy this over a new one in my opinion

Modifica. I was also tempted but can't justify the price tag...........also, got rather annoyed by dealer chap just wanting to sell me a car he couldn't answer ANY of my questions on. If, and it is a really big IF, I change my mind, it would only be with an incredible amount of encouragement in the price department - at least £10k off. At the end of the day, you can go to Germany and buy one for less than my 'discounted' price (OK the steering wheel would be on the other side here, but how many times do you overtake someone when driving a diesel G?...and in the rest of Europe you're fine). As Mark said, I'll be keeping my 300TD: it may have a smelly exhaust and not be as quick as a 350CDI, but it has proven itself time and time again on the reliability front.........and, I REALLY like it. Getting 10K off isnt a problem. Just haggle hard. I called the dealer i was talking to today and unfortunatly the car is now sold. Strangly coming to Ealing Road, Wembley which is right near me.

I didnt bother asking them any questions. I just got the spec sent to me did all the homework myself. They dont really know about the cars.

As for changing yours i would say if you can afford it deffo go for it. These are really well spec'ed cars and with this spec new would cost close to £90K! Getting a new one for nearly £70K is a great deal, or so i told my wife! :)
