dash board change
I have a swb lhd and want to change to rhd and the later dashboard, sorry i have a 460 softop, are there any major issues and where can i buy a dash?
The major rhd market was the uk so try the big Merc breaking firms like Dronsfields, its not something I would do though as it devalues the vehicle. Lhd in a rhd market adds cachet to a vehicle?
Just to comment...have done this both ways...2005 I changed a military 461 van to rhd for daily driving in UK using donor 460 bulkhead and steering parts , extended wiring loom for dash....A lot of work ,still not swopped handbrake over !
2011...swb 460auto to lhd for use in west africa. NOT finished !
Summary ?? A good w/shop , mechanical ,fabricating and sheet metal skills needed BUT above all do you really want to do this ? It is a labour of love ,the G is never quite the same and as noted will devalue the vehicle.
ps....wipers ! Actually not a big issue.
