Re: CV lock nut socket: To borrow or dims to Make one

Hello gib,

I do not have a socket unfortunately, the one I had made, has been stolen amongst my last tools burglary.  I bought the castle nut initially and sacrificed a old socket with a similar diameter to the castle nut.  Try and use a 1" socket drive if you can, otherwise a half inch drive can do.

Offer the castle nut to the end of socket and mark out, the out line of the lugs.  Cut out or hacksaw the (hard work) indents in which the lugs will fit or ask a local engineering shop to cut and machine the socket for you.

Good luck,
