Classic Road Test
For those of you who don't already know, I just thought I'd let all you G lovers out there know, that Classic Car Weekly are publishing a classic car road test on G-Wagens in their next issue due out on 22nd June.
They even spelled Wagens correctly!
Colin
Oo, have to browse that one
be interesting to see what model they use for so called classic road test , most probably going to be a G55 AMG , not one of the old faithful 460 models !
no it will be a 460, its a classic car magazine and the oldest g-wagens are now over 30 years old. They might use that 460 V8 that was built for Sheik Mohammed the racehorse enthusiast though, it has an interesting history.
he had more than one, one member had bought one from a farmer, who had purchased it after the shiek had it, and totally restored it, it was for sale some 5 years ago, but never to be heard of again !
one of them owned by John a member of the club featured in issue 16/17of the G-Wizz magazine, page 13. A little confusing, the front cover says issue 17 but some of the content pages say issue 16 and some say 17. Sorry Ian, it was still a good read.
Wonder where it is now ? re the classic car weekly road test they have used a pic of a very new G 55 on the inside of the back page in this weeks edition .
Yep that's the guy, he had to sell it due to his illness, love to know where it is now.
Ummm no clue on the mag's website:

hi there ! i recently imported over a 500 GES ! it was sold by jeff and merv of g class centre about 3 years ago for over 20k to wealthy young client !!! it was blue with grey check at first and then sprayed obsidian black and refurbed from chassis up. it now has full leather interior and leather slk front seats . gearbox is another amazing story. it has a B&M 'quick silver'
quick shift gear lever mechanism. awesome fun !!!!
this monster spins the rear tires when i kick down from standstill !! very very fast bit of machinery. quite mind blowing ....
is this the G that was in the g wizz mag ??
[i will post reprt on it with pics when i upload photos i recently took of it.
looking forward to reading the write up on the G in the classiccar mag.

[ i just lied spider !! the 500GES is the craziest , most adrenalin making, sheep in wolves clothing G i have ever owned or driven....]
