I've managed to remove the wooden centre piece and got all the switches out, but for the life of me I can't find a way to get the cig socket out. I've taken the wood out as I'm going to try a restoration job on it, and I want to replace the rather scabby socket.....but will it let mefrown

Help!

Many thanks.

Re: Cig socket removal

Update: I've done a bt of searching around and have found, rather as I had suspected, it needs a MB tool to remove this. Can be ordered Stateside for a mere $117. Only thing I can think of is to throw myself on the mercy of my local Dealer, but as main dealers go, they're pretty much the worst I've come across. I bought a new M Class from them several years ago and I can honestly say that I came close to landing one on the sales manager, something I haven't done since school days, and even then rarely, and only in self defence. Bu$$er.

Further update: Finally managed it without recourse to Mercedes tool number 169589003700

Hooray.
