it is a 461 built between 1992 and 2001

that vin number says it was a LWB petrol 280 with the M1110 engine in Cactus Green with steel wheels delivered to the Frankfurt branch of MB in 1980
with that year it would not attract any duty or Emissions control regulations if imported recently
it hasthe 461 instrument cluster and right wing air intake fixtures and the steering wheel is for the later 460 G' as is the swirtchery
interesting though !!!
I can think of two members who may like it - Mark (who is strangley quiet) and Axel, as its already done and you can let the Mrs have her camper van now!

That is the expedition vehicle built by Europa Int'l in Santa fe, NM USA for the CEO who never used it. While the chassis may be from 1980, the engine is obviously a newer transplant.
It didn't. I went from Santa Fe, NM to AL with a few stops in between. It's been for sale for more than 10 years.
so what's wrong with the gearbox, if anything

It would appear( from research) that the vin plate ( missing from the correct position on the air intake box) and the vin number quoted is not for the vehicle we are looking at which is a late LHD LWB 461 290TD ( there are features on the 461 that do retrofit into a 460 like ABS
vin number quoted is for a 1980 M110 engined 460 supplied to the Frankfurt dealer

Re Axels - coming on well - 'canadian 'chassis extension on extra long w/base particularly fine...
$$$ very sensible...but duty to pay on return to EU I presume
