Hi
It's time to have the Ashtaroths on the G500 Classic refurbished. Bad Lacquer de-lamination. Due to the body coloured inner rim and recesses, I imagine it won't be as straight forward as the standard one. I suspect the wheel face is diamond cut too. Not sure if that is standard on them all though. Any recommendations or places to avoid?
Thanks in advance
David

Re: Ashtaroth Alloy Refurb.

Something to consider is that Jap car alloys have a habit of cracking after powder coating if taken to too a high temperature. Euro wheels seem better at this but I will be 2 pack painting any future wheels I do. If diamond cut it should have a lacquer over it which is normal with 2 pack (the base metallic paint is "set" by the lacquer top coat)

Re: Ashtaroth Alloy Refurb.

Hi
Just a belated update on my wheels
Had them done at Prestige Wheels, Stockport. Pleased with the results. Can't have been easy either with body coloured inner rim and diamond cut face. Reasonable price too.

Re: Ashtaroth Alloy Refurb.

Hi Ian
I presume you mean the 500. No not as much as I should do. Maybe do 4 thousand a year. Had a few good runs lately though. Probably as fit as it's ever been. Just getting run in.
Still got the old 230 too, use it everyday. I know I shouldn't say this but, prefer driving it to the 500 !
Here they are as of this morning

Re: Ashtaroth Alloy Refurb.

 Thanks David,

Every time I see you G I just marvel at the colour (I just love it!) and I forgot they also painted the inside of the wheels a matching colour. NIce.

Re the work done, I must say that have done a great job, though did they have to repaint the bits inside as well?

Re: Ashtaroth Alloy Refurb.

They stripped the whole wheel then re-painted, diamond cut it and re-lacquered.
