I was planning to take my newly fixed G (brakes and suspension) to the annual Abingdon 4x4 off road course (re-modelled) which was a good run last year, but like so many other 2011 events it has been cancelled.

They are citing legal complications, which is probably code for someones contract/terms was asking for more money.  Looks like at was canned a couple of weeks ago.
The FB page suggests it was Elfin Safety related issues, but I still suspect contracts, hence they cannot talk about it (probably compensation claims are involved)

Shame as it was an affordable fun day, and at least some good charities helped.

Re: Abingdon 4x4 cancelled

It might have been cancelled because the big Land Rover shows were not very well attended this year. I went to the Peterborough one a few weeks ago and was surprised how empty it was. Apparently, Billing this year was a big let-down for the vendors.

The trouble is as years have gone by, people tend to go to these events as a social thing,, don't spend any or much money, yet for the vendors it's a lot of time and effort to attend, for very little or no business.
