If it's a OM602 DE 29 LA, similar to that fitted to the G290 GDT (W461) I don't see a reason why it shouldn't.

Get the complete serial number of the engine and we can investigate further.

Cheers,

Another N.I. Owner.

Hi Diarmaid,

Good to see another Belfast owner on the forum.

Sounds like a major Engine swap project you are undertaking. I take it the diesel is for your 280 LWB? (Member profile)

i'm running a LWB 300gd, performance isn't sparkling despite many performance add-ons. You may just miss the petrols performance!

Hope to hear from you,

Martin

LWB 280 in Belfast

Hi Martin,
Planning is the operative word - still looking for an Engine !

The 280 has been off the road for some time now with what I believe is a relatively minor fuel injection problem, engine will run but stops when warm, many new parts have been fitted by my mechanic without sucess and I am reluctant to spend several hundred more replacing everthing until we finally get it right.
I would be happy to keep the G with the petrol engine if I could find somone to fix it, and change my Mechanic instead - do you know anyone locally.

Regards

Diarmaid

simple performance add-ons.

Firstly, sorry I was not aware that I had received these questions
eplies!!

Recently have added a K+N Air filter, manufacturers make all sorts of claims for this, and I must say, the engine did appear to rev that little bit more free.

Having failed its 1st MOT (In my ownership), (Good old Mallusk!) needed a new exhaust.

Plumped for a stainless steel custom job, called a Vortex. This definitely helped. Theory goes that the exhaust gases are spun by the internal construction, creating a suction effect. Anyhow the beast definitely goes better + even helped her look!!

Keep in touch and let me know how you are getting on.

Have you seen my Post under "Events"? Meeting for this side ofthe Irish Sea?

Cheers for now.

Local Mechanic

Hi Dairmaid,

Again sorry for delay.

Can't help on the Mechanic front really. My guy is time served LRover, might be able to help - but always gets cross when I send work his way!! Too busy.

If you are still stuck by the time you get this, drop me a line via this Forum.

Cheers

Martin.

p.s. Just bought a 1985 g280. Flying over to London Tuesday to pick her up. Petrol - OH NO!!!!
