Re: 280ge exhaust manifold

Nick,

Your options are limited. Few manifolds would exist without cracks if any.

You can choose to pay what ever M/Benz ask for it (I have not checked their prices) or buy one on the internet and these are between £160 - £175 for manifold for cylinder numbers 1 to 3.

Lastly, get your current one re-welded properly which requires heating the manifold and allowing it to cool down. I have welded a cold manifold without problems but one does need to drill a hole at either end of the crack as deep as the crack, and grind a groove along the crack and stitch weld along the weld.

Finally, PM (Private Message) Mike Axel to ask if he has one in stock from and engine conversion he may have conducted. Please do not waste his time.

Re: 280ge exhaust manifold

Things tried so far

MB not available anymore

welding not a good idea as someone already screwed it up before badly

Been in touch with mike Gordon and pm'd scouse g but they haven't got any

been in touch with one breakers but I thought there price was very high so will consider them as last resort

so the search continues for the moment

Re: 280ge exhaust manifold

Not knowing your engine number; this is one part number of many available for the M110 engine.

A110 142 06 01.

Based on this number there are many sources showing the manifold.

http://www.ebay.fr/itm/Mercedes-M110-Exhaust-Manifold-Header-1-3-A110142...

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Mercedes-Exhaust-Manifold-Header-A1101420601/dp/...

http://www.pantritrading.com/mercedes-benz/mercedes-m110-exhaust-manifol...

Prices range from £160 to £219.

You dealer will not give you the part number but if you can give your engine number this part could be confirmed or not.

Re: 280ge exhaust manifold

Front Exhaust Manifold cyl 1-3  A110 142 06 01 £291 + vat No Longer Available

This fits the M110.994 (280GE) Engine upto serial numbers..

Manual Trans 004203

Auto Trans 001498

Front Exhaust Manifold cyl 1-3  A110 142 91 02 £291 + vat MB Germany have 218 on Final Stocks

This fits the M110.994 (280GE) Engine from serial numbers..

Manual Trans 004204

Auto Trans 001499

The serial number is the last 6 digits of the engine number

I.E

110.994.20.004000 - The 20 denotes Manual, the 004000 the serial number - this would be the early type

or

110.994.22..001500 - The 22 denotes Auto, the 001500 the serial number - this would be the late type

There are MB Dealers in Germany showing both types in stock.

A110 142 06 01 Daimler AG in Lehrte tel 49 5132 52211

A110 142 91 02 Daimler AG in Krefeld tel 49 2151 44190

Most German dealers are very helpful and will ship at reasonable rates..they might even do you a good discount, most will have a good English speaking person on site....just ask!!!

If you need the part number confirming just PM or post your chassis number

Hope this helps

Thinking out of the box; you may want to consider all steel exhaust manifold to be fabrictaed if M/Benz have no stock of your orignals. No idea on costs.
