I have read on other forums about putting a small amount of Two Stroke Oil in with Diesel to keep pump working well, due to new diesel loosing lubricating qualities?

Anything in this? Only talking a egg cup full with 50 Litres?

I thought that this was only needed if you were using central heating oil as fuel, you live and learn

Re: 2 Stroke Oil in Diesel?

In west Africa I notice that most people with common rail put a good shot of ATF to every tankful

I have had no end of problems with MB cdi 311,313 sprinter engines ,esp post 2005 which I put down to poor fuel quality, however Toyota D4D engines seem to cope.

Newer Benz car owners [similar engines and fuel system] tend to fill at the superior diesel pump [30% extra]

I am not sure what effect this may have on any particulate filter fitted (like a KAT). If none are fitted, I would feel happier using some Redex, an upper cylinder lubricant; this should lubricate the pump.
