Hi All,

Been a little bit hectic at my end so work on little truck was abandoned whilst the princess and I was working at building our new nest ! Nest is now cosy and truck is poorly !

Some of you may recall my windscreen wiper issue. It does appear I require a new wiper motor and i wish first to check the correct part number.

a 1986 280ge petrol automatic RHD (W460)

Anyone know please ?

(I believe bosch do one which is rather more cost effective)

yes

Re: Wiper Motor ?

Monsoon season is upon us !

I had got my wipers going by fitting a new wiper motor but sadly they have bitten the dust yet a gain.

A wise man who is sadly missed in these parts, Not mentioning any names but I think John757 will know him ! once mentioned to me that it might be the wiper relay.

I am trying find a new one but wish for a another wise man (Sherlock) to let me know the exact part number which i seek ?

I have found one which looks identical on Starpartz which states a part number = A 005 545 13 24 (this appears to be a bosch part 0335 320 015)

But i found another supplier listing the same photo and stating it to be a G Wagon wiper relay part no :- A 000 982 07 23

Do any of us know ?

Cheers n' truck on,

Neil.

Re: Wiper Motor ?

YO!!

A005 545 13 24 on EPC for front or rear Wiper Relay

0 335 320 015 Bosch converts to A005 545 13 24

Old number is A005 545 05 24

MB have price at £54.00 + vat

No stock available anywhere worldwide....odd...

A000 982 07 23 is available at MBUK (2) at £51.00 + vat

I can't find any link or supersession between the two!

But gut feeling says that its OK and a direct replacement so go for it

OK you little trucker?

Re: Wiper Motor ?

Long time no hear Neil - hope all well with the new house.

Twopenny worth from me who admittedly knows nothing - especially about car electrics.

If there are two identical relays (one for the front and one for the rear) would it make sense to switch them round and see if that makes the front ones work? If it does then you know it is definitely/almost certainly a new relay that is required. If not then maybe it's something else causing the problem.

Re: Wiper Motor ?

Hi Mark,

Yeah time has run away with me again and many demands on my time have prevented play !

House is great ! I will try to send a mail over to ya with updates asap!

Wise words buddy but I fink little truck has only one of these relays located within the fuse board. (Don't fink there's one in the rear ?)

My investigations will continue

Many thanks and best wishes

Neil

Re: Wiper Motor ?

All good here thanks...

Mark is right Neil

There are 2, one controls the the front, one the rear and they are identical

Both are in the fuse board area, but i think one is in the relay box with the others and the second one is tucked up on the inside of the A pillar and is a little tricky to get at without sticking your head up underneath...

But yes swap them over and the issue should move if the relay is the problem
