Hi Folks,

I have developed a couple of problems over last month, the  latest one being the driver window making a strange clunk noise when i opened it the other night, after which it would only go back up about a quarter of the way. It will go down to  open fully. (now covered in plastic.) it did do this once before but started working properly again after numerous tries. Not this time though :(

Has it popped out of guide/runner(hence the clunking noise) ?

The second problem is that the passenger door(and back door) no longer locks via alarm Fob, only by key.  Trouble is that after this happening - if i use the horn it blows the fuse which has indicators on it also. ! Is this related to the door lock or just coincidence.

Any advice appreciated

Marko

Hi Marko,

I had this situation on one of my LWB models, but my window was finding it hard to go down all the way, eventually one of the wires for the central locking came undone because of pressure from the window regulator. I think the metal frame that holds the glass window was somehow affecting the wires and also was blowing a fuse similar to your situation.

I would take the door card off, whilst the window is in the up position(closed), lower the window slowly and hunt for the wire/xs that are in its tracks, should solve the problem! Might need soldering or maybe clearing it away from the window regulator. change the fuse hopefully for the last time.

Hope this helps

Re: Window won't close fully. Now Solved

Thanks Goochie,

It was a wiring connector block that had come loose from it's fixing and been caught by the window which managed to  disconnect it. That obviously caused the passenger door lock failure. Then the loose socket part  of the connector got dragged down by the bottom of the window and got itself jammed between the window and part of the door skeleton. One of the wires was stripped slightly by the metal of the door skeleton which I imagine was causing the fuse to blow when using the horn.  So all solved and working thanks to your suggestions.

cheers
