Wind screen washers
Morning all, front washers ran out of water too quickly the other day, after looking under the bonnet I noticed a funny looking white cylinder type thing inline with the washer hose located just under the washer outlets, it leaks badly when the washers are on, I can't see any obvious problem so looks like it needs replacing, anyone know the part number or what it is called? GD300 thanks
I do not know the part number nor have access to an EPC to do a search but a dealer should be able to look the part for you; they may not necessarily give you the number but will be happy to order for you.
The part should be a one way valve which can be done without alternatively fit an after market universal type.
The valve has two functions which are inter-related to each other
- Keep residual water pressure in line so at the next screen wash application there is instant pressure to discharge otherwise at every wash application you could wait a moment for water to jet out under adequate pressure caused by water leaking back into the reservoir.
- As mentioned above; to prevent water leaking back into the wash reservoir.
I think its the same part that's was used for the w124 so it shouldn't be too expensive
Thanks for the info gents, I've ordered one from Argos!!
