Morning all, front washers ran out of water too quickly the other day, after looking under the bonnet I noticed a funny looking white cylinder type thing inline with the washer hose located just under the washer outlets, it leaks badly when the washers are on, I can't see any obvious problem so looks like it needs replacing, anyone know the part number or what it is called? GD300 thanks

Re: Wind screen washers

I do not know the part number nor have access to an EPC to do a search but a dealer should be able to look the part for you; they may not necessarily give you the number but will be happy to order for you.

The part should be a one way valve which can be done without alternatively fit an after market universal type.

The valve has two functions which are inter-related to each other

  1. Keep residual water pressure in line so at the next screen wash application there is instant pressure to discharge otherwise at every wash application you could wait a moment for water to jet out under adequate pressure caused by water leaking back into the reservoir.
  2. As mentioned above; to prevent water leaking back into the wash reservoir.

I think its the same part that's was used for the w124 so it shouldn't be too expensive
