Hello,

I'm considering rotating the tyres on my G350 sometime soon. There is a c. 1mm wear difference between front and rear.

Can anyone share their experience on which axle tyre wear is greatest? Obviously the wear pattern will be different for the front and rear, but I'm interested in overall wear across the tyre width.

with steering scrub, the front will generally wear faster.

It is usually nsf that wears the most as you drive right hand corners faster as you can see further round bends and also round abouts

If its rhd and in rhd countries that is

Front tyres wear quicker and it is in Mercedes schedule to rotate tyres at every 12,000 miles front to rear to even out the wear and try to achieve even general wear between the front and rear tyres.

There are two schools of thought on rotation of tyres, one is to rotate the tyres around the vehicle introducing the spare in this cycle of rotation and the other is to move the tyre front to rear and vise-a-versa IN keeping with the tyre's direction of rotation.

I favor the latter.  Secondly, my preference is to rotate every 6,000 miles not 12,000 miles.
