Whats the difference???????????

Can someone tell me the difference ( accessory-fitting) between the G models, I have located a set of side bars ( I like !!!) for a G Wagen only to be told they wont fit a 1986 280 GEL, but they will fit a New model 2001 onwards??????? Is the chassis different on the models or is it somthing else, or wot......any help will be much appreciated!!!!

Whats the difference???????????

If they are like the ones I had they are not attached to the chassis.

They are bolted to outriggers on the body.

I was told although the 460 and 463 look similair the outriggers on the body are different.

W460 and W463 have different chassis

W460 and W463 have different chassis

W460 is up to model year 1989 and part-time 4WD

W463 is from 1990 model year and full-time 4WD
