What is connected to Fuse 26?

I have been trying to establish why my 1994 G300GEL is suffering a parasitic battery drain.

After watching a few online videos I tested the amps on each fuse to discover which fuse was associated with the drain.

I discovered that fuse 26 which has a handbook description of “SA strip, terminal 30” is the only fuse draining power with everything switched off.

Does anyone know what is connected via fuse 26 or who is the likely electrical culprit?

Simple replies would be much appreciated as im well out of my depth!

Merry Christmas to all.

Martin

According to my 1991 Owners Handbook, fuse 26 is for optional extras, so why not remove the fuse and see what doesn't work ?

Re: What is connected to Fuse 26?

When you say that fuse 26 is the only one with a power drain when all else is switched off; how much of a power draw is it?

Power draw of up circa 3.5 amps is feasible and after shut down if the ECU has not gone into a sleep mode which could take up to some 2 hours to happen it then cannot be defined as parasitic.

Do not omit the likely hood faulty alternators as being parasitic - test this out as well.

The draw is very little at .2 Amp so I will run with the idea of leaving the fuse out and seeing what does not work. It can't be to important I presume or it would have been named. Thanks for all your help guys.

I think the 'SA Strip, terminal 30' refers to the accessory strip. Terminal 30 is automotive code for a direct connection to the battery, not through the ignition switch. This means it will potentially  be 'on' all the time. Do you have an alarm system?

Arnie, I believe there was an alarm system fitted but it was removed at some stage before I purchased the vehicle this year. The reason I suspect an alarm was fitted is due to a manual key switch existing on the offside rear external panel and cut wiring under the front passenger seat.
