Warm up Regulator
Hey everyone,
Was hoping for help identifying the original WUR that was on my vehicle. It is a 1987 280ge chassis number wdb46023317051249. When I bought the car it did not have a WUR and I have it running with the wrong one but for obvious reasons it is pumping copious amount of fuel into the engine. Anyone have any idea what the original part number might be? Mercedes does not want to provide it. I think it should be 0438140010 but I cant spend $500 on a guess.
Thanks.
there is one here:
...with the part number you mentioned
280CE 280SL 280SE 280E 280SEL 280SLC Warm Up Regulator 0438140031
and how to fix it here:

one from Germany here:
This one mentions 'G-Modell', and part numbers, but not sure if remanufactured or 'as is'
- Warm-up Regulator - Fuel Injection, Ka Jetronic
- Mercedes-benz / Bosch: A1100700262 , 0438140057, 0-438-140-057 S-Klasse W116 280 SE SEL / S-Klasse W126 280SE / SL R107 280 SL, SLC C107 280 SLC / W123 280E Limousine, C123 280CE Coupe, S123 280TE T-Modell / G-Modell W460 280GE /
I think all the regulators for the 280e engine are basically the same, with perhaps some small revisions - if any - to the design throughout the years.
The different incarnations of the BOSCH WUR used on the 280 M110 MB engine are numerous, they all work to the same principle but many work or better put, are "piped up" slightly differently and to get anything like a proper fuel consumption you need the correct model to fit your engine. I will include more data than required for the simple reason that you can't assume that your 30 year old G has it's original G spec engine still fitted, you need to check the engine number on the engine itself.
MB list these 2 options for the M110.994 G engine...
MB A110 070 02 62 up to engine serial 10/50 20/60 (Manual) 004203
MB A110 070 02 62 up to engine serial 12/52 22/62 (Auto) 001498
MB A110 070 00 62 from engine serial 10/50 20/60 (Manual) 004204
MB A110 070 00 62 from engine serial 12/52 22/62 (Auto) 001499
Your chassis WDB 460 233 17 051249 left the factory with Auto engine number 110 994 12 003006 so therefore engine serial number 12 (LHD Auto) 003006 so from the serial cut off 001499, so is fitted with the later A110 070 00 62 WUR
A110 070 02 62 equates to BOSCH 0 438 140 144 old MB number A000 070 16 62
A110 070 00 62 equates to BOSCH 0 438 140 152 old MB number A000 070 29 62
A110 070 02 62 is no longer available anymore but was last priced at £733 + vat @ 20% GBP
MBUK have 2 and MB Germany have 611 A110 070 00 62 in stock at £222 + vat @ 20% GBP
The A110 070 00 62 would have been a similar price until April 2014, but this is a great example of MB changing their pricing structure on slow moving stock that fits older models. Many 280 mechanical parts have benefited from this.
A bargain at £222+ vat compared to a used one at $500...what does the dealer your end price it at?
Attached a few articles that i found when i was looking into a problem with my last 280GE a few years back.
Hope that helps

Yes, I noticed recently that clear white side indicator repeaters seemed unusually 'cheap' at about 6 GBP each and the ones on the front wings, complete with base, reflector and lens at 29 GBP each.
arnie thats 70GBP = 97 euro for the set of 4 thats a long way from cheap
60 euro inc tax!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ALSO BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN YOU BUY FROM EBAY

This guy is very good and will rebuild your WUR - did mine and tested the fuel distributor which was ok.
Wow! Thanks for all the information everyone. That helps an incredible amount. The new MB one was quoted just over $1000 but for some reason here in Canada they really like to stick it to us on vehicle parts pricing. Thank you for that posting Gav I am sure that I am not the only one that will benefit from it. I will double check to see if the original engine is still in it and will be able to identify the correct part number.
