W463 Steering
The steering on my W463 is very rough and a bit noisy when reversing. Is this a feature of the recirculating ball steering system used?
Not sure what you mean by "very rough"??
And no, I don't think it should be noisy at all, even when reversing.
Which model of 463.?
Can't see why being in reverse would have any effect?
Check PAS fluid 1st
Only a long shot , but could be duff cv joint?

It is a grinding noise and almost feels like the steering is locking up. The vehicle is a G63 and it has been like it since new but only when reversing.
