W460 front wheel bearings

Hi Chaps,

New w460 owner and site member looking for some help and info on front driveshaft problem.

Basically, bought a w460 off someone on this site in December. It's a W460 SWB that has had a OM 605 installed. I have been driving around in it a little it while doing some work on the interior. Anyway, at the mot all passed but advised front right wheel bearings need attention.

So, after taking the hub apart I have found that there are bits missing and it doesn't look quite right to me. The bush that is supposed to be in the axle and the seal (37 and 38 on tech drawing) we're not even there. I believe there is supposed to be another bush on the shaft near the gaitor ( 26 on the other tech drawing) again missing, or is that it at the diff end of the shaft in photo which I don't think should be there? If that is it and I managed to get it off there I wouldn't fit tightly on the shaft at the gaitor end so is it the right part? The diameter of the shaft at the diff end is about 36mm and diameter at the gaitor end is about 30mm, is this right?

Also, in the last pic of the end of the axle, I don't see where the bush and seal fit. Does something have to be removed?

Obviously someone's been here before so anything could have been done!

Any suggestions?
