W 463 GE230 1992 (1993) / Bigger Rims / Going from 16r to 18r / or whats the coolest fit?

I am thinking about repainting my wheels but I am weighing the options.
Is it possible for me to go from 16r to 18 r? Will it effect the driving in any way? Are there any combinations of wheel/rim you guys recommend?
You can fit 18" wheels without any problem. You will need to check that the existing bolts are correct length. Tyre size 265/60-18 will give the same gearing and is a standard factory fit on G500. The ride will be harder and handling will improve. You will have less tyre wall so when off road you can't reduce the pressure to the same extent as a 16". 18" tyres wear out faster.

I think I will stick to the original look but make it bit more "working class" by painting them matt black.
I will need new center hub caps.

The different rims use different centre caps and you want to check the ones you are thinking of getting will fit neatly.
I am thinking about getting new center caps for the matte black rims.
I am repainting the 16r original wheels in matte black.
Just wanted to clarify that 75 mm center caps will fit? Does anyone know?

I think you have H2 rims which take the larger 81mm centre cap.
You should measure your centre bore to check.
Yup. I will check.
It seems to me they have the same bore but different diameter on the cap itself.
Here is 81 and 75 Diameter. The difference seems to be only in the top part of the piece?
