Track Rod Ends

Hi, I have an 88 300GD A2 reg;D648CPV vin WDB4603322705221.

After a pre mot inspection I now need the the fixed track rod end and bar and may as well replace the adjustable end as well.Local mob dealer says no longer available.

The truck has rubber wheel arch extensions. The mechanic says it has a part 23 for the adjustable track rod if that helps.

Any help much appreciated, would love to get back on road for Peterborough meet.Thanks John

Probably Gav can comment on availability of parts from MB. However the adjustable ends with the ball-joints are Lemforder ZF parts and are often available from Euro Car Parts.

Not clear if you want a drag link (steering box to wheel) or a track rod (wheel to wheel).

Note it gets a little mad if you just want the track rod end as; "There are 3 types of ends for drag link (M22, M20, Left & right threads) so MB sell complete bar if they can to avoid confusion"... but at £20 for suitable track rod end it is cheap (if you have the right one!).. but if you want to replace the whole bar (cheapeast way to replace the fixed end) it is £200...

Track Rod end = Quentil Hazel QH QR2397

Ford transit 18mm cone rh track rod end 1987-91.

460 series, lh or rh centre rod ends 1979-93

track rod details; Ford transit RHT ref. DR 2397 from DIRECT COMPONENTS. This is the nearside ( right looking from the front of a right hand drive ) track rod end with 20mm X 1.5mm pitch thread x 70mm thread length.
