Hi Guys hoping someone would have a part number for a tensioner bolt for my 280GE. I have to tighten the fan belt every few weeks as it would seem the threads/groves on my tensioner bolt are worn and start slipping.

My vehicle is a 1988, 2.7L, 280GE Gwagon. I believe W460 G Class parts.

it is automatic with AC and this belt sit on the AC and alternator pulleys i believe..

Help with a part number would be great guys....your help is always appreciated..thx guys tony

Re: Tensioner Bolt replace part number ?

Hello Tony,

Please furnish your chassis number and if possible engine number. These are paramount to parts identification and are the passport to talking to  Mercedes Benz Parts all over the world.

Only an experienced parts technician will venture to identify and order parts without the chassis number; no - I take that back, the parts system now a days have gone idiot proof that it would let you enter any part query WITHOUT a valid chassis number.

It has been mentioned several times that members enter Vehicle model, chassis number and if possible engine number and have that in your signature strip below. Any future parts enquiry you make the can then be replied to as the necessary information is present .

Now your adjuster bolt should have a spur gear on its head which locates into a rack lever; Are the rack's teeth OK or will you need the lever as well? Without confirmation these may not be available any longer.
