Simple question - is this possible?  Taking the seats off the metal frame and moving them over?

This is to preserve the wear that the Drivers seat gets, especially on the edge, sliding in and out.

Note the metal frame is only bolted to the floor with 4 bolts, but they can be rusted tight and need grinding off or drilling, plus you cannot swap those over because the release handle would be on the wrong sides.

I think with some WD40 you should easily be able to unscrew the frame bolts. I never had any problem for these.

I'm going to look at it (switching the driver and passenger seats, not the underlying frame). Its just that I have not heard of others doing this and it seems an obvious routine fix to excess wear on the driver side.

yes, but the recline seat adjusters will end up being on the 'wrong' side of the seat. Otherwise, the seats should swap over OK on the frames.

(What design is your seat material? I may have access to some grey seat fabric from unstitched seats that were used to create patterns for leather replacements. The originals were unmarked, like new.)
