stratford on avon show, one for the diary
Hi All.
I went down to the overland and adventure show yesterday, and was looking forward to seeing a few G's and a chat with some owners, but the only one I saw was one parked in the car park, how disappointing !.
However, the show generally was very good indeed and well worth the drive down from north Wales, hopefully next year a few more G owners will turn up and give the toyotas who stole the show somewhat a run for their money, I will certainly be going again with my own g which I very much hope will be back together by then.
Yes it was a great show and sorry to have missed you. Was it my my 300 you saw in the camping park? I thought it was well attended which I suspect in part was due the the excellent weather . Intreting point you made about the Land Crusiers as the organises have asked if the GWOA would consider a club stand for next year, I for one would be interested in attending.
Rick Byrne was also at te show in his immaculate 461 Military truck which you can view on the following forum thread.

Have a look at the the link to Mowgli- adventures who have posted a number of photos of the show.

Doh, I completely forgot that it was this weekend.
I didn't know about this event - would have been interested as always keen for an excuse to drive the G Wagon especially if it's to somewhere where other Gs might be in attendance.
Are these sort of events eligible to be included in the "Calendar"? If so can members just include events that have some relevance or be of interest to GWOA members? Apart from the AGM, it seems completely devoid of any interesting dates.
loads of Gs will be here next aug http://www.offroadtrucks-austria.com/
graz treffen late may
two treffens one offroad event kevin (did a lot of work) welsh offroad drive very low attendance
Sorry I missed it: didn't know of it....have been wanting to go to alternative shows, other than the LandRover Magazine organised ones for a while now. Is there a weblink?
Yes Phileas you have the correct link.
The other show I like to visit and will attend again next year is the Allrad show in Bad Kissingen, which must be one of it not the biggest off road shows in Europe.
Howard
Yes Howard, I think it was your g I saw, with the roof tent ?, very nice too.
I'm not surprised a few of you missed the show as it wasn't very widely advertised, I only learned of it myself because a friend happened to mention they'd been to it a couple of years ago, it had a good and interesting variety of exhibits ( apart from hardly any G's ), and stalls selling some good quality stuff rather than cheap Chinese tat as a lot of shows seem to have.
The best part of it for me was meeting people who had been on some amazing journeys all over the world with their vehicles, and hearing some of their stories, hopefully I will have finished the work I've got to do on my G so I'll be able to load up my camping stuff and get down there again next year.
