another e-bay item but intriguing rather than horrifying

Pictures of the engine bay and details on who carried out the conversion would be nice, the interior looks to be very high quality and moving the fuel filler is no easy matter either but the clincher is how good the engine/box combo works. Ultimately though its an expensive bitsa

it is like looking at a jig-saw puzzle;  conversion in 2014; why transfer an engine from a SL55 into a 460 when you can buy a G55? how does the transmission work, is the car rear-wheel drive?  the dashboard has been transferred as well;  what was the purpose of this exercise?

good question, this seller often has G-Wagens on his books so it may not be a dud

That's amazing.  Front seating nicer than rear, but the dash fitting looks good.  It has transformed an old 460.

I quite like it.  Have to assume the 4x4 has all gone though.  And something weird with the rear load area - looks raised.

I'd be worried it would break under load though.  I wonder if the wiper spindles still leak?

The original transfer-case would not be rated for the torque from the replacement engine. But, I too fail to see the point of this exercise if  £50k was actually spent. However, parts were probably from a breaker SL and maybe £10k labour.?

Of all the things to pick up on, the torque rating of the transfer box! laugh
