Raining today which reminded me that I recently purchased a nice tow rope so I can pull lesser vehicles through our road which floods at least a handful of times every winter. But, where to store this new purchase?

Tried using toolkit cubbyhole but then it won't close - and glove boxes are for gloves, before anyone suggest that :-)

Some (Spider1V's V8) come with cubbyholes underneath the rear bench seats, but my (SWB W463) isn't equipped with this feature (cubbyhole(s), not rear bench seats).

Seems to me that such a utilitarian vehicle should have much more storage available - maybe some owners have come up with nifty solutions to this predicament??

If your's is a strop rather than a round rope.........I lay mine flat a couple of times back and forth under the back seat - flip it up as one would to use full rear area, then close. And I just  keep the shackles in the "tool box" under the passenger seat.

Would the near side-rear quarter panel cover do? To gain access to it, obviously open the tail gate, pull the edging strip carefully from the cover edge. It runs vertically the whole height of the tailgate inner door frame. Once removed pull the card partially as you will need to disconnect the speaker wires from the top if fitted. Voila - there you are space for your tow rope.

Or just store it in one of those large plastic boxes with lids on them and store all your large loose stuff in it. Ideally, you will want some luggage straps to secure the box in place.

Stick it in the spare tyre.
