Still alive....
At least I am, but my G is a tad disconbobulated.
I try and keep it going for the occaisional tootle and so took it out today for a run prior to next weeks MoT.
Steering was very very heavy. Checked but could not identify the fluid reservoitr, Found a Dot 4 resevoir empty ! (see pic) But then I can't stay on my pins very long these days, so don't really have the ability to spend any time searching.
I would really appreciate a wee map or a pic or whatever regarding location of reservoir. I quess if it's not fluid I might be in trouble.
Thanks folks.
Hi Ian,
it might adjust the timing for different petrol octane quality, it around there somewhere, good to hear from you, if it is that its called an EZL
Paul
11 is your steering reservoir, for a 463. On top of the pump.

Hi Ian that is a photo of the fluid resevoir for the difflocks.
Can anyone tell me what the round black item is?
Thanks
Hi Ian that is the housing for the oil filter.
Not been on here for so long I forget how to answer... doh!
Any ideas about location of power steering reservoir? I'm stumped. Probably because it's in plain sight ....
This is a photo of a 6 cylinder petrol 463 with the arrow showing the location of the power steering resevoir.
Ian
glad to hear you are well!!
Would be happy to call in and check it over... under current climate probably not too wise but I'm open to options
if you still have my details give me a shout... sure we can sort you out

btw- the steering ATF fluid will basically automatically bleed by turning left and right. That is if it even needs it. You suspected it because of the heavy steering, so maybe it does...there are instructions in the 463 repair manuals on here. Take the top off, there is a fluid damper in there to check and then just top up with the right stuff.
The diff-lock fluid will probably leak straight out the bottom. The original went somewhere. Quite common to need to replace those lines underneath.
Your brake fluid reservoir (the square one on the brake servo) is likely fine, as you said - between the min and max lines.
580 for a service just depends. Depends on the quality of the oils purchased. How many fluids they are going to check and change. For that money I would expect engine, brakes, difflocks (and fix leak), axles and possibly gearbox (depending on what that oil looks like). Plus a once over everything, adjusting handbrake, MOT type checks etc. Dont forget some contingency for if the garage finds urgent things that need doing while they are there.
Cut back that price by doing just the engine oil change and diff-locks. But it sounds like worth a good old once-over.
